Hextet Systems is a small consulting and research network operating in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada under Autonomous System Number (ASN) 395089. As a research network, all services provided are dual-stack IPv4/IPv6, reflecting our commitment to advancing modern internet protocols and routing technologies.
Our Name
In computing, a hextet, or a chomp, is a sixteen-bit aggregation, or four nibbles. As a nibble typically is notated in hexadecimal format, a hextet consists of 4 hexadecimal digits. A hextet is the unofficial name for each of the 8 blocks in an IPv6 address.
Our focus has always been on deploying IPv6 to gather operational experience with it. We thought that something that embodied IPv6 on a deep level was important in our name, and thus, Hextet Systems came to be.

Our mission is to advance the understanding and implementation of BGP, routing, and access technologies such as RADIUS/AAA through hands-on research, consulting services, and real-world application. By maintaining a dual-stack network environment, we contribute to the development and deployment of IPv6, ensuring a more robust and scalable internet infrastructure for the future.
